Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Laborer/Heavy Equipment Operator and play a vital role in construction projects that build communities and infrastructure. Duties Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to equipment safety procedures. Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities accurately using utility locating tools to prevent damage or accidents. Drive commercial trucks to transport materials, equipment, or personnel between sites following all federal construction safety regulations. Support site preparation activities by performing excavation tasks, site leveling, and construction grading as directed by supervisors. Follow all safety regulations diligently, including equipment safety procedures, federal safety standards, and site-specific protocols to maintain a secure work environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow on the construction site while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Experience Prior experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, or similar equipment is highly preferred. Construction site experience with utility work, excavation, grading, or general construction projects is essential. Knowledge of construction utility work procedures and federal construction safety regulations is required. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting will be advantageous. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or experience in commercial truck driving is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform construction grading and excavation tasks accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with equipment safety procedures and adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards ensures a safe working environment.
