Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery used in metal fabrication and manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure the efficient production of high-quality components, adhering to safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and experience with advanced machining equipment to support our commitment to excellence and safety. Duties Operate heavy machinery such as CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, stamping presses, plasma cutters, and electrical discharge machining equipment with precision and safety compliance. Set up machining tools and tooling according to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring proper calibration and alignment. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately produce parts that meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime. Measure finished components using calipers, measuring instruments, and other precision tools for quality control purposes. Follow safety protocols diligently during machine operation to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks including sheet metal forming, assembly, and metal welding. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize production delays and ensure continuous workflow. Maintain detailed records of production activities, measurements, and quality inspections for traceability. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Proficiency in using measuring instruments including calipers and other precision measurement tools. Familiarity with CNC programming concepts and shop math fundamentals. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Skilled in metal fabrication techniques such as welding, forming machines operation, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly processes. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
