This position is ideal for a skilled operator who has experience using GPS machine-control technology and can safely and accurately perform grading, earthwork, and site development operations. The GPS Dozer Operator will work closely with foremen, superintendents, and other field personnel to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities Operate GPS-equipped dozers for grading, excavation, site development, and earthwork operations. Use GPS machine-control systems to perform accurate cuts, fills, slopes, elevations, and finished grades. Read and interpret construction plans, grading plans, stakes, elevations, and project specifications. Perform rough and fine grading for roadways, building pads, utilities, drainage areas, and other civil construction applications. Maintain proper grades and elevations while minimizing over-excavation and unnecessary material movement. Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs. Perform basic preventive maintenance, including checking fluids, tracks, cutting edges, and other equipment components. Maintain a clean and safe work area around equipment. Work safely around underground utilities, excavation areas, other heavy equipment, and ground personnel. Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, grade crews, and other equipment operators. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite-specific safety procedures. Assist with other equipment or field duties as needed to support project operations. Previous experience operating a dozer in heavy civil, earthwork, grading, utility, or site-development construction required. Experience operating GPS machine-control systems required. Strong understanding of grading, elevations, slopes, cuts, fills, and earthmoving operations. Ability to read and understand construction plans and grading information. Ability to perform both rough and finish grading accurately. Strong awareness of jobsite safety and the ability to work safely around employees and other heavy equipment. Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and recognize potential mechanical issues. Dependable attendance and ability to report to jobsites on time. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
