Job Description

Overview The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, such as bucket loaders, excavators, and articulated haul trucks, depending upon the positions available and the candidate's experience and qualifications. Prior heavy equipment operator experience preferred. Some manual labor will be required. Position is

, typically starting in mid-April and ending at Thanksgiving. Twin State Sand & Gravel and its sister company, Blaktop, are family run businesses that have been in operation for over 70 years. This is an excellent opportunity to find a home at a company that puts family values first. Duties & Responsibilities Perform pre-shift equipment inspections. Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Perform preventative maintenance, such as greasing and topping off fluid levels. Assist with crushing plant maintenance and housekeeping, such as shoveling spillages and greasing machinery. Assist with crushing plant repairs, such as splicing belts and changing screens. Follow safety rules, such as lock out - tag out procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior heavy equipment experience preferred. Ability to climb ladders, lift & carry heavy loads, and perform manual labor tasks. Work Environment Work will primarily occur at a rock quarry and gravel pit. Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, risk of electric shock, dust, explosives, the elements, and elevated noise levels.
