Construction Equipment Operator / Laborer Gradin Excavation LLC is seeking a dependable, hardworking Construction Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our excavation and utility construction team. We specialize in commercial and residential excavation, site development, and underground utility installation. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both in the equipment and on the ground and takes pride in doing quality work safely and efficiently. Job Responsibilities Operate construction equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, rollers/compactors, and other excavation equipment Perform excavation, grading, backfill, trenching, loading, and site preparation Assist with installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utilities Assist pipe crews with laying pipe, setting structures, bedding, backfilling, and compaction Perform general construction labor when equipment operation is not required Safely work around trenches, existing utilities, equipment, and other crew members Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment Follow project plans, grade stakes, and directions from supervisors Maintain a clean and safe jobsite Work effectively as part of a crew to keep projects on schedule Qualifications Previous excavation, underground utility, civil construction, or related experience preferred Experience operating some or all of the following equipment: Excavator Wheel loader Skid steer Dozer Roller/compactor Mini excavator Knowledge of excavation, grading, trenching, compaction, and underground utility work is preferred Ability and willingness to perform physical labor in addition to equipment operation Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Dependable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to follow instructions and work safely around heavy equipment Valid driver's license preferred CDL is a plus but not required What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a well-rounded construction worker who can operate equipment but is also willing to get out of the cab and help the crew when needed.
