In Person Position Summary FJ Palmore Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Painter for an interior renovation project located at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This is a temporary, project-based position. Employment will end when the painting portion of the project is completed. We are looking for an experienced painter who can work efficiently with minimal supervision and produce professional commercial-quality finishes. This is primarily a brush-and-roller application job. Applicants must have actual commercial painting experience. We are not looking for entry-level painters or general laborers who have only occasionally performed painting work. Scope of Work Painting work will include:
- Interior walls
- Drywall and CMU/block walls
- Ceilings
- Metal doors
- Metal door frames
- Touch-up and finish painting
- Cutting-in around ceilings, doors, frames, electrical devices, and other finished surfaces
- Surface preparation as required
- Patching and minor surface repairs
- Sanding and preparing surfaces between coats
- Applying primers and finish coats
- Protecting floors, fixtures, equipment, and adjacent finished surfaces
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas Required Experience and Qualifications Applicants must:
- Have verifiable commercial painting experience
- Be proficient with brushes and rollers
- Be capable of producing clean cut lines and consistent professional finishes
- Understand proper surface preparation, priming, and finish-coat application
- Have experience painting walls, ceilings, doors, and door frames
- Be comfortable working from ladders
- Be physically capable of performing painting work throughout the workday
- Be dependable and report to work on time
- Have reliable transportation to and from Fort Rucker
- Be able to follow project specifications, safety requirements, and supervisor instructions
- Be able to pass all background and access requirements necessary to work on a U.S. military installation Tools Required Painter must provide their own normal painting hand tools and equipment, including:
- Paint brushes
- Roller frames
- Roller poles/extensions
- Roller covers
- Paint trays/buckets
- Cut-in tools
- Scrapers
- Putty knives
- Caulking gun
- Sanding tools
- Other normal hand tools required to professionally perform brush-and-roller commercial painting Paint and project-specific materials will be provided by the company. Physical Requirements Must be able to:
- Work safely from ladders
- Stand and work for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive painting motions
- Work overhead when painting ceilings and upper wall areas
- Lift and carry normal painting materials and equipment Important Employment Information This position is temporary and is being hired specifically to complete the painting scope of the current Fort Rucker project.
Employment will end upon completion of the painting work. Applicants should understand the temporary nature of the position before applying.
