POSITON SUMMARY
Applies powder primers and paints to products while being focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Must be able to apply the powder primers and paints to the products produced at AC, Inc. in accordance with our quality policy. 2. Must be able to meet application specifications per job requirements. 3. Preps parts for powder application by masking necessary areas. 4. Operates industrial oven and conveyor line to ensure proper cure of the parts being coated. 5. Adjusts and maintains proper control settings on equipment to produce a quality application. 6. Has the ability to help troubleshoot issues that may arise during product application. 7. Wears mandatory PPE while performing job tasks. 8. Cleans and maintains powder equipment, respirator, and work area daily after the job has been completed.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. May be required to help deburr, pressure test, and/or wash containers before powder application. 2. Loads boxes of powder primers and paints onto portable powder gun equipment. 3. Loads conveyor line with containers to be coated.
PREREQUISITES
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. One (1) year powder painting required, 2 years preferred.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED
Powder paints, powder primers, solvents, portable powder gun, respirator, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, hand tools, pneumatic tools, test fixtures, wash tanks, conveyor line, and industrial oven.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Standing constantly while applying powder to parts. 2. Stoops occasionally. 3. Handles and grasps application gun and uses fingers to squeeze trigger. 4. Observes parts moving on conveyor line to monitor flow of parts. 5. Makes discriminating comparison of color hue and color brightness in powders being used. 6. Watches for thickness of powder being applied. 7. Reaches to adjust parts on conveyor line. 8. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally; and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently; and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
