Responsibilities Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, drywall repair, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality. Execute residential painting projects using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and airless), and structural coating applications. Utilize hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers, and scaffolding or ladders safely and efficiently to reach high or difficult areas. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and color schemes accurately to execute detailed paint plans aligned with client specifications. Apply coatings on interior and exterior surfaces such as walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and fixtures while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols including respiratory protection. Perform surface preparation for renovation or restoration projects by repairing drywall, applying caulking, finishing concrete or masonry surfaces, and installing fixtures as needed. Maintain a clean work environment by managing debris and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after each project. Follow safety guidelines rigorously while working at heights or with hazardous materials to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Experience Proven experience in residential construction painting with a strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of brush work, roller application, spray techniques (including industrial spray painting), and surface preparation. Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and color theory principles for precise color matching and visual consistency. Hands-on experience with various hand tools, power tools, scaffolding use, ladder safety practices, and fixture installation. Background working on renovation projects involving drywall installation/removal, stucco application, plastering, caulking, framing carpentry, masonry work, and maintenance tasks. Ability to read construction plans accurately while understanding the nuances of commercial versus residential painting requirements. Strong commitment to safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols and proper handling of coatings and chemicals.
