Job Description

This is a Full-time role. Performs skilled painting jobs on furniture, buildings and other areas within and/or around the hotel property.
QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 5 years of experience. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand and follow directions. Manual dexterity. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical stamina.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleans and maintains brushes and other tools utilized after every painting job. Effectively mixes and matches various types of paint. Demonstrates appropriate usage of paint brushes, thinner and other tools and equipment. Inspects the walls and deciding upon the number of paint coats that will be required. Maintains quality and standards of work. Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats. Mixes and matches colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies. Fills nail holes, joints, and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler. Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting. Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment.
