About Us:
Since 1984 John Smith & Sons is a family based small business looking to offer various 1099 sub-contract based work producing agricultural equipment ( trailers, sprayers, carts for off highway use ) we have positions available in all aspects of production. Cutting, painting, assembly, loading for deliveries and general labor.Pay:
Pay is based on a flat rate dollar amount upon completion of assembly and/or painting of a product. Ranging on average of $16- 22 dollars per hour, with added compensation based on contract performance for general help in between contract jobs.
Work Procedure Shop help:
Aiding in keeping a clean shop. Learning where tools go, and organizing different areas that could be improved. We strive to keep a clean shop, and everyone plays a role, but this specific position will play a larger role in property upkeep. There are always things that can be made nicer, and this may be 50% of the work done any given week.Painter:
Using a pressurized paint pot, painters will ensure products are cleaned and prepped to receive Primer, and apply in an outdoor environment.General Assembly:
Installing tires, installing various forms of trailer deck material, loading deliveries, etc. Ideally, a painter would work on general assembly and / or shop clean up when painting is complete. Requests /Preferences:
The right person with the right attitude can be trained on any aspect of the job, but these things will get work going faster and are appreciated- painters will either learn, or use prior experience to operate a forklift
- general assembly will learn or use prior experience to work with general power tools, and read a tape measure
- willingness to learn and work well alongside others
- willingness to be flexible based on where demand falls amongst the shop.
Schedule:
Hours can vary based on personal needs for time off, or to work more, but a general schedule is as follows. Contract based work will allow for limited flexibility. Mon-Fri. 8am-5:30pm with 1hr lunch break. Ability to occasionally work Saturday 8am-2pm preferred.Job Types:
