Position Summary The Painter is responsible for performing a variety of skilled painting and surface preparation tasks to maintain and enhance the appearance, safety, and functionality of the MorseLife Health System campus. This role supports a high-quality environment for residents, staff, and visitors by ensuring all painted surfaces meet organizational standards. Key Responsibilities Perform interior and exterior painting across all MorseLife Health System facilitiesPrepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming as neededApply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipmentMatch and mix paint colors to maintain consistency across the facilityRepair damaged surfaces, including drywall, plaster, and wood, before paintingProtect surrounding areas (e.g., furniture, flooring) using drop cloths and masking techniquesFollow established safety procedures, including proper handling and disposal of materialsMaintain tools, equipment, and inventory of painting suppliesRespond to work orders in a timely and professional mannerCollaborate with maintenance team members on broader facility projects as neededEnsure work areas are clean, organized, and safe upon completionPerforms all other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2 years of professional painting experience, preferably in a commercial, healthcare, or residential settingKnowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methodsBasic understanding of drywall repair and minor carpentry is preferredAbility to safely operate painting tools and equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyGood communication and teamwork skills
