Traveling Renovation Team Compensation:
$18.25-$26.75 per hour About the position Diamond Property Consulting is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our traveling renovation team. This role prepares surfaces, applies coatings and finishes, and delivers clean, consistent paintwork across interior and exterior renovation projects. The ideal candidate is versatile in all aspects of the painting trade, dependable, quality-focused, and able to work efficiently with limited supervision. This is a traveling position requiring frequent assignments across multiple cities and states, including overnight and extended stays when needed. Diamond Property Consulting, Inc. is a nationwide general contracting firm specializing in interior renovations and property maintenance for multifamily, senior living, and student housing communities. With a team of more than 150 skilled tradespeople, Diamond has completed more than 6,000 unit renovations in the past 24 months and currently services a portfolio of more than 5,000 units nationwide. Primary responsibilities Prepare walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces through cleaning, patching, plastering, sanding, caulking, and priming Apply paint, stain, sealers, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment Match, mix, thin, and apply paints and finishes according to project specifications and manufacturer instructions Apply wall texture and complete patch repairs so finished surfaces blend cleanly with surrounding areas Mask, cover, and protect floors, fixtures, cabinets, windows, furniture, occupied areas, and adjacent finishes from damage or overspray Perform touch-ups, punch-list corrections, and final-walk repairs before unit turnover or project completion Inspect completed work for coverage, color consistency, finish quality, drips, overspray, and other deficiencies Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and care for brushes, rollers, sprayers, ladders, and related equipment Maintain accurate records of labor time, materials used, production, and work progress for site reporting Load, secure, and transport painting materials, tools, and equipment to and from assigned job sites Communicate promptly with project managers and team leads regarding scope changes, material needs, access issues, or delays Dispose of paint, solvents, and hazardous materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable local requirements Coordinate with other trades and team members to maintain production flow and meet project deadlines Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, jobsite rules, and manufacturer requirements Travel to assigned job sites, including out-of-state projects, and perform other duties as assigned by project leadership Required qualifications Minimum three years of professional painting experience; five years preferred Proficiency in brush, roller, and spray applications on interior and exterior surfaces Demonstrated skill in plastering, sanding, patch repair, caulking, priming, texture application, and surface preparation Working knowledge of paints, primers, stains, coatings, finish levels, application methods, and drying or recoat requirements Ability to identify surface defects, match existing textures and colors, and produce clean, uniform finishes Ability to safely use ladders, sprayers, hand tools, power sanders, and common painting equipment Strong attention to detail, time management, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced renovation environment Valid driver's license preferred, with reliable transportation to assigned reporting locations Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including out-of-state and overnight assignments Physical requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive painting motions for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, and position paint, tools, ladders, sprayers, and related materials safely, with assistance or equipment when appropriate Ability to use ladders and work in environments that may include paint odors, dust, noise, temperature changes, and typical renovation activity Ability to use required personal protective equipment and comply with ventilation, respiratory protection, and jobsite safety expectations Flexibility to work schedules that may vary based on deadlines, property access, drying times, and project demands Benefits Medical, vision, and dental insurance Paid time off (PTO) and sick days Company-provided housing and meals during qualifying travel assignments Diamond Property Consulting is an equal opportunity employer.
