Duties Prepare exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Use hand tools and power tools to apply paints, stains, sealants, and specialty coatings with precision and care. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately interpret project requirements and specifications. Perform surface repairs including plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and restoration tasks. Operate airless paint sprayers and other equipment to efficiently cover large exterior areas with consistent quality. Execute renovation projects by working on framing, drywall installation, fixture installation, and masonry as needed. Maintain safety protocols on construction sites while handling materials such as concrete finishing tools, welding equipment, and scaffolding. Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and budget. Conduct quality checks throughout the process to guarantee smooth finishes and adherence to color theory principles. Assist with maintenance tasks on tools and equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance. Experience Proven experience in residential and commercial exterior painting projects with a strong portfolio of completed work. Familiarity with construction estimating processes for project planning and resource allocation. Hands-on experience with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, putty knives, as well as power tools including sprayers and drills. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and ability to read blueprints or schematics accurately. Background in related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry, framing), masonry (stucco), plastering, or restoration is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, area estimations, and material quantities. Experience working on renovation or remodeling projects involving fixture installation or maintenance tasks is a plus. Strong understanding of color theory for achieving desired aesthetic effects in exterior finishes.
