Painter Helper Jon's Quality Painting And Home Improvements Lawrenceburg, IN Job Details Full-time | Contract $17 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Federal construction safety regulations Basic math Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter Helper to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will assist skilled painters in preparing surfaces, handling tools, and executing various painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Your enthusiasm for craftsmanship and safety will contribute to delivering high-quality finishes that transform spaces. Duties Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, drywall finishing, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support painters in applying coatings using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand or power tools. Handle ladder use safely to reach high or hard-to-access areas during painting or repair tasks. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and color schemes to accurately execute painting plans. Prepare construction sites by masking areas, setting up scaffolding or ladders, and ensuring all safety regulations are followed during work. Assist with the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, drywall repair, plastering, stucco application, and masonry work as needed for renovation projects. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and adhering to safety protocols including respiratory protection measures. Experience Prior experience in construction site work or renovation projects is highly preferred. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting technical schematics is a plus. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), and surface preparation techniques is beneficial. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting and site maintenance is essential. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating coverage and surface dimensions are required. Experience in residential or commercial painting projects involving brush painting, roller painting, industrial coating applications, or restoration work will be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work safely on scaffolding or ladders while following all safety protocol guidelines is important for success in this role.
