Job Description

Painter Sunday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm
Job Summary:
The Painter is responsible for carrying out all painting and finishing works throughout the hotel to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and other property assets are maintained in excellent condition. The role includes surface preparation, painting, wallpaper maintenance, and ensuring all work is completed safely and to the hotel's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform interior and exterior painting works as assigned. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and applying primer. Mix and match paint colors to achieve the required finish. Carry out touch-up painting and repaint damaged or worn surfaces. Repair and maintain painted walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and furniture. Install, repair, or remove wallpaper where required. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of painting tools and equipment. Follow preventive maintenance schedules and respond to maintenance requests promptly. Maintain cleanliness of the work area before, during, and after completing tasks. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of paints and chemicals. Coordinate with other Engineering team members when carrying out maintenance projects. Report material shortages and equipment defects to the Engineering Supervisor. Support emergency maintenance activities when required. Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational certification or training in painting or finishing is preferred. Basic knowledge of painting materials, tools, and surface preparation techniques. Familiarity with safety procedures related to paints, solvents, and chemicals.
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Painter, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or facilities maintenance environment.
Skills & Competencies:
Good knowledge of painting and decorating techniques. Attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to read and understand work orders. Good time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work at heights. Basic communication skills in English.
Working Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor work environments. May require working at heights and in confined spaces. Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance calls when necessary.
