HCA Healthcare is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our Adult Psych unit. In this role, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult behavioral health patients, including assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and crisis intervention. You'll collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff to ensure safety, therapeutic engagement, and high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients, including assessments and care planning Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects Perform ongoing mental status, safety, and suicide risk assessments Support therapeutic interventions, groups, and patient education Respond to behavioral crises using de-escalation and safety protocols Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control practices Participate in unit quality improvement and professional development activities Required Skills Psychiatric nursing assessment Medication administration and monitoring Crisis intervention and de-escalation Suicide and safety risk assessment Care planning and clinical documentation Behavioral health treatment modalities Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Infection control and patient safety Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency
