Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
To assist Plant Operations Director and department staff in any project that may be required. Performs and completes assigned Scheduled Maintenance Work Orders, Routine and Emergency Work Orders in allotted and timely manner. Under general direction, to perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a Hospital; may instruct or lead other Technicians; may instruct or lead contract workers; and do other related work. Provides Security related duties M-F during daylight hours. Maintains cooperative work relationship with others. Assist in the rotation and respond to emergency repairs. Comply will all Hospital training and safety requirements. Knowledge on how to scrape, sand and fill surfaces in preparation for painting and finishing; apply undercoats and finish coats with brush or by spray machines; paper hang; and match paints and finishes; clean and maintain brushes and other equipment; paint simple designs; estimate the cost of painting jobs; advise in the selection, ordering, and storing of painting materials; consult with other tradespeople; keep simple records and make reports; instruct and lead unskilled assistants. The Painter may prepare lists of materials and supplies; estimate job costs; lay out a job; and direct the work of three or more helpers or craftspeople exercising only limited supervisory responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION High School Graduate or GED equivalent Training in de-escalation techniques such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); must be able to register within one year of accepting position.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
An Operating Engineer license is preferred An EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Certificate is preferred\ PRINCIPLE
