Hotel Overview:
Located in the heart of downtown Fairmont New Orleans will be an impressive new addition to Fairmont's luxury portfolio, offering 250 luxury guest rooms, four food & drink venues, a rooftop pool with expansive views of the city, more than 19,000 square feet of function space, and a 10,000 square-foot spa. This property is destined to become an illustrious destination in the Central Business District, nearby the city's renowned and historic French Quarter. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Perform interior and exterior painting, touch-ups, staining, sealing, and finishing throughout the hotel. Maintain the appearance of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, meeting spaces, restaurants, back-of-house areas, and other assigned areas. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and repairing imperfections prior to painting. Match existing colors, finishes, textures, and patterns to maintain consistent hotel presentation. Repair minor drywall, plaster, wall, and surface damage as required. Complete touch-up work promptly in response to maintenance requests and inspections. Maintain a high standard of workmanship while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations. Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, and guest belongings while completing painting and repair work. Properly use, clean, and maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies. Maintain appropriate inventory of paints, materials, tools, and supplies and communicate shortages to Engineering leadership. Safely store paints, chemicals, and other materials in accordance with hotel procedures and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used as required. Respond promptly to work orders and prioritize assignments based on operational needs. Communicate effectively with Engineering colleagues and other hotel departments regarding maintenance projects and room or public-area requirements. Support preventative maintenance and hotel improvement projects as assigned. Follow all workplace safety, chemical handling, environmental, and hotel policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Fairmont New Orleans standards. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous painting or maintenance experience required. Previous hotel, resort, commercial, or luxury hospitality experience preferred. Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, drywall repair, and finishing applications. Ability to accurately match colors and finishes. Knowledge of proper handling and storage of paints and chemicals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and respond to changing operational needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work professionally around guests and colleagues. Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended shifts as operationally required.
