Manders Companies Inc. is a full-service interior/exterior painting and renovation company that provides quality services in the construction and property management industries. Family-owned and operated, Manders is one of the most respected and experienced contractors in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Manders Companies Inc. is currently seeking a Painter to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for following written and verbal instructions and use a variety of tools to paint surfaces. Other responsibilities include completing minor repairs and selecting correct paints and primers. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your skills and allow you to showcase your attention to detail and passion for craftsmanship. Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to): Selecting the correct tools and paints for projects. Preparing walls and other surfaces before painting. Applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish. Covering exposed objects and surfaces to protect from paint overspray or splashing/dripping paint onto non painted surfaces Using fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks. Sanding of walls when needed in preparation of applying paint and other finishes. Obeying workplace safety rules and any job site safety and work requirements. Complying with Company safety manual and ladder safety requirements. Working independently and as part of a project team to meet schedules and quality standards. Keeping the workspace and tools clean each day when leaving the job site.
Requirements:
Experience painting residential or commercial spaces. Driver's license and reliable transportation required. Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards (OSHA) Good planning and organization skills. Attention to detail. Solid communication skills. Good balance and physical strength. Must be able to lift and carry five-gallon paint and four and half gallon joint compound buckets, to and from job site. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Must be able to lift and carry spray rig machines to and from job site. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. From $18.00 per hour
