As a Painter Helper, you will assist with preparing surfaces, handling tools and equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed to achieve flawless results that meet client expectations. Responsibilities Assist experienced painters with surface preparation including sanding, cleaning, caulking, drywall finishing, and plastering to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support with the setup and operation of various painting tools such as paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and power tools to apply coatings efficiently. Help with the application of paint, stain, or coatings on walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry surfaces, and structural elements following project schematics and blueprints. Prepare construction painting surfaces by sanding, masking, taping, and protecting adjacent areas to ensure clean lines and professional finishes. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering strictly to safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in interpreting technical drawings or schematics related to remodeling or industrial painting projects for accurate application. Support with miscellaneous handyman tasks such as fixture installation, drywall repair, caulking, framing carpentry, or masonry work as needed. Skills Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and blueprint reading for accurate project execution. Knowledge of color theory to assist in selecting appropriate paints and finishes for various surfaces. Experience with residential painting techniques including brush painting and roller application; familiarity with commercial or industrial spray painting is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional spraying), airless systems, scaffolding, ladders safely and effectively. Familiarity with surface preparation processes such as drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, and coating techniques. Strong attention to detail for visual color comparison and quality control during project execution. Understanding of safety regulations related to construction site work including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to safety protocols. Ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics related to remodeling or industrial projects; basic math skills for measurements are essential. Prior experience on construction sites involving framing carpentry, drywall installation/remodeling, fixture installation or maintenance is advantageous.
