Job Details Job Responsibilities:
Prepare various surfaces for finishes, including plaster surfaces, masonry, wood, metal, plastics, etc. Mix and apply spackle or plaster to obtain smooth surfaces. Mix and apply cement to small areas. Use sanding equipment and other hand tools for finishing surfaces. Mix paint colors. Have knowledge of various types of paints and some understanding of applications of latex, vinyl, alkyds, oil passed paints and other special paints such as epoxies. Use brushes, rollers and various types of spray equipment efficiently and proficiently. Must be able to prepare, install and repair wall surfaces and various types of wall coverings as required. Spackle and tape sheetrock joints and install metal corner beads on sheetrock and plaster as assigned. Install rubber and metal corner guards, rubber and vinyl cover or straight base and other protective strips assigned. Use proper masking and correct solvents and mixing agents in preparing paints and other surface finish materials. Perform miscellaneous jobs as required including cleaning and rubbish removal, moving of equipment, etc.. Performs related duties as required. Must be able to stand and work for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift and move heavy materials and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
