Lead Painter Exterior Restoration / Old Homes

What this role actually is We're looking for a lead painter who knows exterior work — especially on older wood homes where prep actually matters. This is not a basic repaint position. We need someone who understands that exterior restoration is not just spraying paint and calling it done. A lot of our work involves older homes, including 100+ year-old wood houses, where the quality of the prep determines the quality of the finish. If you can run an exterior job, lead a small crew, and make sure the work is done right without needing to be babysat, you'll do well here. What you'll be responsible for Running residential exterior painting jobs from start to finish Leading 1-3 painters on site Prepping older wood homes properly before paint Scraping, sanding, caulking, priming, patching, and making sure surfaces are ready Making sure the finish looks clean, consistent, and professional Keeping the crew moving and the job on schedule Communicating basic updates with homeowners Keeping job sites clean, safe, and professional What matters here Thorough prep work Clean lines No shortcuts Good judgment on older homes Showing up when you say you will Taking ownership of the job We do not want someone who just paints over problems. We want someone who understands the work that needs to happen before the paint ever goes on. What we're looking for 3+ years of residential painting experience Strong exterior painting experience Experience working on older wood homes is a big plus You've led jobs or crews before You can keep a small crew moving without drama You don't need someone checking on you every 2 hours You take pride in doing the job properly, not just quickly Basic carpentry skills are a plus, but not required Who this is NOT for You're still learning how to paint You've only done basic interior repaints You've never run a job or led a crew You cut corners on prep You are inconsistent or unreliable You need constant direction to stay productive Pay & work $24-$31/hr depending on experience Steady residential work Opportunity to grow if you prove yourself Serious applicants only How to apply
