Job Description
Job Overview Join our team as a Seasonal Hydrant Painter and play a vital role in maintaining the safety and functionality of our community's fire hydrants. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for preparing, painting, and marking fire hydrants to ensure they are clearly visible, properly identified, and compliant with safety standards. This seasonal role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction and utility maintenance while contributing to public safety. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help keep our neighborhoods safe and well-maintained throughout the year. Responsibilities Prepare hydrants for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed to ensure a smooth finish. Apply durable, weather-resistant paint to hydrants using brushes, sprayers, or other tools, ensuring clear visibility and proper color coding. Assist with site setup and cleanup. Conduct routine inspections of painted hydrants for quality control and touch up as necessary. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess valid driver's license. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to work outdoors in direct sunlight and in hot temperatures for extended periods of time. Must be able to understand and follow simple oral instructions. Ability to perform repetitive hand motions, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods in outdoor conditions. Able to adjust schedule to fit manager's requirements and requests or seasonal weather patterns. Dependability and reliability are essential.
