  • Greenville is hiring a Journeyman 1
  • Painter to join the Facilities Team!
This full-time role will work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. shifts Monday-Friday. On call, weekend rotation, and working off shifts and holidays is required. Travel to support UPMC Horizon-Shenango Valley, as needed, could be required for the role. Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer. Journeyman 1

Responsibilities:
Assist carpenters in construction projects, stud walls, hang drywall, demolition, installation of grid work, rile and acoustical ceilings. Custom surface finishing, grouting, installation and setting of ceramic tile, stone and marble; repair/replacement of existing materials. Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Mix and apply paint at the rate of 2,000 square feet per eight-hour day on smooth or pre-finished walls/1,200 square feet per eight-hour day on rough walls, including but not restricted to concrete or masonry block, rough plaster, acoustical tile and others of similar texture. Perform all work following infection control procedures, including setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment. Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized. Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized. Perform fire barrier preventive maintenance and maintain code knowledge base. Perform minor repair jobs on walls, floor leveling and surface preparation/masonry repairs as needed before painting. Record personal work orders and submit hours on a daily basis. Refinish furniture, stain, lacquer, paint and polish.
