Job Description

The Architectural Painter will be responsible for applying protective and decorative coatings to metal surfaces to enhance their durability, resistance, and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will have experience in surface preparation, spraying techniques, and finishing processes to ensure high-quality and long-lasting finishes on all VIVA Railings products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing other necessary pre-treatment processes. Accurately mix paint and coating materials according to specifications. Skillfully apply paint and coatings using spray guns and other application tools. Perform color and texture matching to achieve consistent finishes across products and projects. Perform filler/Bondo finish work to repair and prepare surfaces prior to coating. Apply appropriate masking and protective measures to protect areas and components that should not be coated. Perform powder coating repairs and touch-ups as needed. Apply and work with various finishing techniques, including textured finishes and acid finishes. Perform stainless steel (SS) finishing as needed; knowledge of SS finishing is helpful. Inspect finished products for quality, thickness, color, texture, and uniformity of coating. Maintain equipment and perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning. Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations related to the work area, equipment, and material handling. Document processes, results, and work performed; maintain accurate records. Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to schedules. Stay updated on new products, application techniques, finishing processes, and industry best practices. May be required to work after normal business hours based on project or production needs. May be required to travel and work overnight, including overnight stays, based on project requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in painting, coatings, or finishing preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial, architectural, or commercial painting, with specific experience applying protective and decorative coatings highly desired. Familiarity with spray painting equipment, surface preparation, and finishing techniques. Knowledge of powder coating repair and touch-up processes. Working knowledge of textured finishing and acid finishing techniques. Knowledge of stainless steel (SS) finishing is helpful. Experience with color and texture matching. Experience with filler/Bondo finish work and surface repair. Knowledge of masking techniques and protective measures for coating applications. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good physical condition, able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Willingness and ability to work after hours and travel overnight when required by project needs.
