We are seeking an experienced 2nd Class Pipe Fitter to join our ship repair team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, repair, modification, and testing of piping systems aboard commercial and government vessels. This position requires the ability to work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and technical drawings while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and shipboard piping layouts. Fabricate, install, modify, and repair piping systems including: Carbon steel Stainless steel Copper-nickel PVC and other approved materials Measure, cut, bevel, thread, bend, and fit pipe and tubing. Assemble pipe sections using fittings, flanges, valves, supports, and hangers. Perform pipe fit-up for welding and brazing operations. Remove and replace damaged piping systems and components. Conduct pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, and leak checks as required. Work aboard vessels, in tanks, voids, engine rooms, and other confined spaces. Assist with equipment alignment and installation of pumps, valves, and associated piping components. Maintain a clean and safe work area while complying with all shipyard safety regulations. Work effectively with supervisors, welders, engineers, inspectors, and other trades. Qualifications Required Minimum of 1 year of marine, industrial, or shipyard pipefitting experience. Ability to interpret shipboard drawings and specifications. Experience fitting various pipe materials and systems. Ability to accurately use measuring tools and layout equipment. Knowledge of ship repair standards and procedures. Ability to pass a pipefitter trade test. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required and 90% travel Must be able to obtain and maintain required shipyard access credentials. Preferred Prior experience in ship repair or new construction shipyards. TWIC Card. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience working aboard Navy, Military Sealift Command, or commercial vessels. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces. Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.

Pay:

$20.00 - $32.50 per hour
