FILL-IN, #1, #3 SHEDS Perform any job as needed in the processing line to maintain quality and an efficient operation. Minimum Qualifications Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must meet the physical requirements for safe operation of mobile equipment as administered by the Company. Must exhibit the ability to read and write legibly. Must exhibit the ability to read and interpret measuring instruments and understand tolerances required for that job. Must exhibit the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions. Must have prior experience on a majority of the jobs in the Cleaning Shed. Must exhibit the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job duties. Must exhibit the ability to operate a personal computer. Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing is required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner. Due to the need to visually inspect pipe for defects, must pass an annual vision test as administered by the Company. Must exhibit a record of less than 2.5 attendance points. Must exhibit a valid state issued driver's license. Essential Physical Functions Sitting required while in office writing reports, conversing with supervisor and co-workers, etc. Standing required while checking pipe and runs, observing that pipe is running smoothly, conversing with supervisor and co-workers, accessing different areas of the department, etc. Walking required on various surfaces (concrete, dirt, etc.) to get repairman or electrician, to check break downs of equipment, to storeroom, garage, etc. Climbing required for steps to go across pipe run, and stairs to Ductile Iron Pipe office. Stooping required while using hand grinder, running scales, checking numbers on pipe, running saw, running inside grinder, picking up pads, pulling pipe, etc. Kneeling and/or crouching required while in yard checking pipe. Crouching required to assist with repairs on machines. Overhead reach required to release saw, operate controls on hoist for pipe, obtain supplies, operate machines, etc. Forward reach required to roll pipe, operate hand grinder, perform desk activities, obtain supplies, operate machines, etc. Bended reach required to operate hand grinder, assist with rolling pipe, checking pipe in yard, etc. Handling required for hand grinder, steering wheel and levers on forklift, pipe, saw, supplies, etc. Use of fingers required for writing, using calculator, digital phone, controls on hoist, typing on computer, etc. Feeling required to determine rock grade. Talking required for communication with co-workers and supervisor. Vision required to drive forklift, grind, safety, quality, etc. Hearing required for communication and safety. Lifting required for 20# hand grinders (20 pounds), 50# plastic head presses (50 pounds), and skids (up to 60 pounds). Carrying required for hand grinder (20 pounds) to Ductile Iron Pipe. Pushing and pulling required to roll pipe with occasional force of up to 75 pounds.
FILL-IN, CENTRAL LINING
Fill-in wherever needed in lining production units. Minimum Qualifications Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must exhibit the ability to read and write. Must exhibit the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the job duties. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions. Must meet the physical requirements for safe operation of mobile equipment as administered by the Company. Must be able to recognize different kinds of pipe. Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing is required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner. Due to the need to visually inspect pipe for defects, must pass an annual vision test as administered by the Company. Must exhibit a record of less than 2.5 attendance points. Must exhibit a valid state issued driver's license. Essential Physical Functions Sitting required while driving forklift and while at lining station. Standing while palletizing, washing bells at cement mixer, painting bells, inspecting pipe and while rolling pipe in stock yard required. Walking from job to job on even and uneven surfaces required throughout plant and while inspecting pipe, painting bells, and while placing skids. Climbing stairs required to get to cement mixer and to get into the forklift. Balancing required when climbing stairs. Balancing required to maneuver to and within various work areas throughout the plant. Stooping required while handling skids and washing gaskets. Overhead reach required while washing and/or painting bells. Forward reach required to operate controls in forklift, at lining station, outside conveyor, etc. Bended reach required for handling skids and nailing skids together. Handling required for brushes, cans, skids, pallets, pipe wrench, hammer, etc. Use of fingers required to operate forklift controls, write on pipe scales, operate lining station controls, palletizing turn-around, and paint machine. Feeling required to operate forklift for lifting, tilting, etc. Talking with supervisors and co-workers required. Vision required for safety, to operate forklift, write on pipe, paint machine and other controls. Hearing required for communication and safety. Lifting, from floor to waist, 140-pound skids with assistance; up to 70-pound skids and 50-pound boxes of nails required. Carrying a 70-pound skid a distance of up to 25 feet required. Pulling 64-inch pipe with pipe stick with up to 50 pounds of force occasionally required; pushing to position skids and shoveling cement also occasionally required.
