Responsibilities of the

Pipefitters:

Install, assemble, fabricate, and modify commercial piping systems according to plans, specifications, and applicable building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, shop drawings, and piping layouts. Measure, cut, thread, bevel, fit, and install pipe and fittings. Install valves, flanges, hangers, supports, strainers, and other piping components. Install piping for HVAC, hydronic heating and cooling, plumbing, fire protection, and other commercial mechanical systems as required. Perform pipe layout and determine proper elevations, slopes, and routing. Complete pipe fit-up and prepare systems for welding, brazing, or other joining methods. Work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and elevated platforms as necessary. Coordinate work with welders, plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, sheet metal workers, and other construction trades. Install equipment connections and coordinate piping installation around mechanical equipment. Perform pressure testing, flushing, and inspection of completed piping systems. Identify and resolve piping conflicts and installation issues in coordination with foremen, supervisors, and other trades. Journeyman Pipefitters:

5+ years of pipefitting experience. Strong understanding of commercial mechanical piping systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings. Proficient in pipe measurement, layout, cutting, threading, fitting, and installation. Knowledge of pipe, fittings, valves, supports, and mechanical equipment connections. Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements. Ability to work effectively with other trades and construction personnel. Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license Journeyman pipefitter certification or apprenticeship completion preferred. Basic hand tools for apprentices, hand, and power tools for the journeyman level.
