Open availability; weekdays, early mornings, and occasional evenings/weekends as project needs require Position Overview Diligence Security Group (DSG) is seeking experienced, highly skilled Certified Fire Sprinkler Fitters / Installers for project-based assignments throughout the Greater Bay Area. This is a hands-on field position for experienced fire sprinkler professionals who consistently perform high-quality, safe, accurate, and inspection-ready work. Installers will perform fire sprinkler installation, modification, repair, and related project work in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes and standards, manufacturer requirements, and project requirements. Candidates must have substantial hands-on commercial fire sprinkler installation experience and possess all certifications, licenses, registrations, permits, and safety credentials required for the position and assigned work. Required Certifications, Licenses & Credentials Current California Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Fire Sprinkler Fitter Certification All applicable California fire sprinkler certifications, registrations, licenses, and permits Required OSHA construction safety training Required aerial lift, scissor lift, or powered access equipment training/certification, when applicable to assigned work Required site-specific safety certifications and training Valid driver's license Required manufacturer-specific certifications or training, when applicable to the assigned system Any additional certification, license, registration, or permit required for the assigned scope of work Candidates must be able to provide current documentation of required credentials. California C-16

Fire Protection Contractor License:

An active C-16 license is required when the duties assigned to the position require contractor-level licensure. The C-16 license does not replace the individual's required California Fire Sprinkler Fitter Certification. Experience Requirements 5+ years of commercial fire sprinkler installation experience Journey-level fire sprinkler fitter experience Extensive hands-on experience with water-based fire sprinkler systems Experience working on active commercial construction sites Ability to read and follow fire sprinkler plans, shop drawings, specifications, and installation details Experience identifying and correcting installation deficiencies Experience preparing work for testing and inspection Experience completing punch-list and corrective work Strong knowledge of commercial fire sprinkler installation practices Ability to work independently while maintaining DSG quality standards Experience may include commercial, government, educational, healthcare, industrial, institutional, multifamily, renovation, retrofit, and tenant-improvement projects. Key Responsibilities Install commercial water-based fire sprinkler systems Read and interpret approved plans, shop drawings, specifications, and installation details Lay out piping and system components according to approved project documents Measure, cut, thread, groove, assemble, and install piping Install sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers, supports, and related components Perform approved system modifications, additions, repairs, and replacements Verify proper placement, alignment, spacing, elevation, and support of installed components Identify discrepancies between field conditions and approved project documents Report installation conflicts, deficiencies, or material concerns to project leadership Coordinate installation activities with project personnel and other trades Support system testing and inspection preparation Complete punch-list items and corrective work Correct installation deficiencies as required Maintain required project and installation documentation Protect installed equipment, materials, and surrounding property Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas Follow applicable safety requirements and project procedures Communicate professionally with project managers, contractors, inspectors, clients, and other trades Computer & Technology Requirements Basic computer and mobile technology proficiency is required. Candidates must be comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and computers for work-related activities; accessing electronic plans and drawings; using email and cloud-based project documents; uploading photographs and project documentation; completing electronic forms and checklists; documenting completed work and deficiencies; and communicating electronically with project and field leadership. Physical Requirements The position may require: Standing and walking for extended periods on active sites Performing overhead installation work Climbing ladders and accessing approved elevated work areas Bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching Safely using required hand and power tools Handling and positioning sprinkler piping, fittings, hangers, and related materials Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and positioning materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Working indoors and outdoors in active construction environments Wearing and properly using required PPE Safely performing the essential physical functions of the position Project-Based Assignment This is a project-based position. Assignment length, schedule, location, and hours may vary based on active DSG projects and client requirements. Successful completion of an assignment may result in consideration for additional DSG projects based on quality of work, reliability, credentials, availability, performance, and business needs.
