Responsibilities:

Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers. Install storm water sewer structures and pipe systems to a specific grade and pressure piping to include portable water, reuse water and sewer force mains. Cover pipes with earth or other materials. Use glue or welding equipment to ensure that pipes are tightly sealed. Replace pipes that need repair. Dig trenches using lasers and grade rods. Clean and prepare sites, set braces to support the sides of excavations. Measuring and configuring pipe routes. Gathering material and installation tools. Digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools. Locating installed piping systems using magnetic or radio indicators. Removing old or broken piping systems. Laying pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers. Checking pipe alignment and sealing pipes with cement glue. Installing auxiliary lines. Sealing exposed pipe joints and fittings. Filling and sealing pipe trenches.
