We are seeking an experienced Hillman to join our underground utility pipe crew. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with underground utility crews and understand the demands of installing water, sewer, and other underground utilities. This is a skilled position for someone who knows how to work efficiently around a pipe crew, understands job-site safety, and can take direction while getting the job done right. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of underground water, sewer, and storm pipe Work directly with pipe layers and equipment operators Assist with trenching, bedding, grade, backfill, and material handling Safely work in and around excavations and heavy equipment Handle pipe, fittings, tools, and other materials Assist with trenching, backfilling, and compaction Perform general site work and cleanup as needed Read and follow crew direction, plans, and job-site requirements Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience working on an underground utility pipe crew Must understand the basic processes and workflow of underground utility installation Heavy equipment experience strongly preferred Ability to read basic plans and grades Experience operating an excavator, skid steer, and/or loader is a major plus Must be able to work safely around trenches and operating equipment Knowledge of construction tools and materials Strong work ethic and dependable attendance are required Must be able to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks Must be able to work effectively as part of a crew
