Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Pipe Layer and play a vital role in installing, repairing, and maintaining essential underground utility systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including sanitary sewer lines, stormwater systems, water supply pipelines, and underground utilities. As a Pipe Layer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient installation of piping systems that keep communities functioning smoothly. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality infrastructure projects that meet rigorous safety and technical standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install pipelines and utility systems. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to prepare trenches and move materials efficiently. Perform construction trenching activities following blueprint specifications and safety regulations to ensure proper pipe placement. Install sanitary drainage systems, sewer lines, stormwater systems, water supply pipelines, and underground utilities with precision. Use utility locating tools and pipe lasers to verify correct positioning of underground pipes before installation. Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol guidelines during all phases of work. Conduct welding and concrete finishing tasks as needed for pipe connections and system supports. Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to ensure accurate installation aligned with project specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to pipeline installation or utility connections. Experience Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on pipeline or utility system installation. Skilled in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, and front loader truck handling. Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater management infrastructure, and water supply systems. Familiarity with blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and utility trenching procedures. Experience in welding, concrete finishing, and using hand tools for construction tasks is preferred. Understanding of federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence is essential. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and follow detailed construction plans for underground utilities installation. Strong commitment to safety standards with prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects involving pipeline or sewer line installation.
