Action Labor Tallahassee 1515 S. Adams St. Tallahassee, FL 32301 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pipefitter to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems across various projects, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and technical specifications. Your expertise in pipefitting, welding, and blueprint interpretation will be essential to delivering high-quality results on time and within scope. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from industrial facilities to commercial buildings, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills to contribute to essential infrastructure. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately assemble piping systems according to specifications. Measure, cut, thread, bend, solder, weld (including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and pipe welding), and assemble pipes using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols. Install piping systems for plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), fire sprinkler systems, and pipeline networks following ASME codes & standards and NFPA standards. Perform pipe threading, tube bending, fabrication, and assembly tasks with precision using calipers and other measuring instruments. Rigging and positioning pipes or equipment on construction sites or manufacturing facilities safely and efficiently. Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and power tool safety procedures. Conduct routine maintenance on piping systems to ensure optimal operation; troubleshoot issues using schematics and technical drawings. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless installation processes aligned with construction plans. Document work progress through detailed reports and logs; participate in safety meetings and site inspections regularly. Experience Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a related construction or manufacturing environment involving pipe installation and maintenance. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), pipe welding, soldering, and fire sprinkler fitting. Strong ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, construction plans, and ASME codes & standards. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading tools, hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics interpretation, and tube bending techniques. Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire sprinkler systems; experience working on pipeline projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of HVAC systems installation; experience with plumbing maintenance is a plus. Construction site experience including rigging practices; ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces as required. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fabrication; understanding of construction safety regulations is essential.
