Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Pipe Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, aligning, and securing piping systems essential for various infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure that pipelines are laid accurately and efficiently, adhering to safety standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects within the waste water, utility, and construction sectors, contributing to vital infrastructure development. Responsibilities At times may need to, and/or learn, operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to prepare sites and move materials as needed. Dismantle and assemble piping systems, treatment plant equipment, and machines. Move pipe, equipment, and machines using hoists, dollies, rollers and hand trucks. Lay out and install pipelines using appropriate techniques for concrete forming, plumbing, and utility locating. Use impact drills and various hand tools to join pipe sections securely and ensure structural integrity. Other duties as assigned. Perform concrete finishing tasks around pipe installations to create smooth surfaces and proper bedding. Conduct pipeline alignment checks using specialized tools like pipe lasers to guarantee accurate placement. Collaborate with team members on construction site tasks, maintaining safety protocols at all times. Requirements Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on pipeline installation or related fields such as waste water, construction or utility projects. Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck. Skilled in blueprint reading, pipe laser use, welding techniques, concrete finishing, plumbing, and utility locating. Ability to operate construction machinery safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Knowledge of concrete forming processes and pipeline installation procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation or relevant trade skills are preferred but not mandatory. Pay:
$21.45 - $36.73 per hour
