Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Pipelayer to join our construction team, specializing in the installation of utility pipelines including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. The ideal candidate will be skilled in trenching, laying pipe, grade checking, and ensuring proper alignment and connection in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install underground utilities including water, sewer, and stormwater pipelines. Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications. Measure, cut, and align pipes using appropriate tools and equipment. Prepare trenches and bedding areas according to grade and slope requirements. Use laser levels, grade rods, and other instruments to set and maintain accurate elevations. Inspect pipes for defects and verify proper sealing and fit of joints. Operate hand and power tools as required. Coordinate with equipment operators and other crew members for efficient workflow. Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings. Perform daily maintenance checks on tools and equipment. Keep work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2+ years of experience in pipelaying for utility construction (water, sewer, storm). Strong knowledge of pipe materials (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, etc.) and installation methods. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and survey stakes. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and trench safety. Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
