Required based on project needs Position Summary Gregory Construction is seeking experienced Data Center Pipe Fitters to support large-scale commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects. The Data Center Pipe Fitter will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of mechanical piping systems. This position requires strong mechanical piping experience, the ability to read construction drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mechanical piping systems and be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment while coordinating with other trades and members of the project team. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, piping diagrams, and P&IDs. Measure, lay out, cut, fit, assemble, and install mechanical piping. Fabricate and install piping according to project drawings and specifications. Install pipe hangers, supports, anchors, guides, and restraints. Install valves, strainers, check valves, balancing valves, drains, vents, flanges, and other piping components. Maintain proper pipe elevations, slopes, offsets, and routing. Perform grooved, welded, flanged, threaded, or other approved piping connections. Connect piping to mechanical equipment such as chillers, pumps, CRAH units, CDUs, and heat exchangers. Perform or assist with hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and commissioning. Inspect completed work for proper alignment, support, connections, and workmanship. Identify and communicate installation issues or discrepancies. Maintain clean piping systems and protect open pipe ends from dirt and debris. Coordinate work with other trades, including electrical, structural, mechanical, and insulation teams. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all project safety requirements and Gregory Construction safety standards. Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other craft professionals. Complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules. Qualifications Previous experience as a Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Pipe Fitter, or similar mechanical piping position. Experience installing commercial, industrial, or large-scale mechanical piping systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and mechanical plans. Ability to read piping diagrams and basic P&IDs. Ability to accurately measure and lay out piping. Knowledge of pipe fittings, valves, flanges, supports, and other piping components. Understanding of pipe elevations, offsets, slopes, and routing. Experience installing pipe hangers, supports, anchors, guides, and restraints. Ability to perform or assist with pressure testing and system flushing. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical equipment. Ability to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades. Willingness to travel based on project requirements. Preferred Experience Data center or mission-critical construction experience. Chilled-water piping experience. Large-diameter piping experience. Commercial or industrial mechanical piping experience. Experience with chillers, pumps, CRAH units, CDUs, heat exchangers, or air-handling equipment. Experience with grooved, welded, flanged, or threaded piping systems. Experience with hydrostatic pressure testing. Experience with system flushing and commissioning. Experience working around critical electrical and mechanical equipment. Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects. Chilled-Water Experience Candidates with chilled-water experience are strongly preferred.
Experience may include:
Chilled-water supply and return piping. Large-diameter piping. Chillers and pumps. CRAH units and air-handling equipment. CDUs and heat exchangers. Grooved, welded, flanged, and threaded piping systems. Isolation and balancing valves. Strainers, check valves, vents, and drains. Pipe hangers and supports. Hydrostatic pressure testing. System flushing and cleaning. Data Center Requirements Data center construction requires a high level of accuracy, cleanliness, quality, and attention to detail.

Prevent dirt, debris, welding materials, and other contaminants from entering piping systems. Properly cap and protect open pipe ends. Maintain accurate pipe routing, elevations, and supports. Verify connections before testing or placing systems into service. Identify potential issues before they become larger problems. Protect completed work and surrounding equipment from damage. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow all safety requirements when working around electrical and mechanical equipment.
