Full Job Description Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this job is to lead a 2-man (or more) crew and perform pipe fitting for the purpose of repair and new installation of sanitary process piping systems and other applications as required (field and shop). ________________________________________________________________________
Job Duties:
Review job with Project Engineer/ Manager. Communicate with Engineer/Manager as needed to resolve daily questions that arise and to address any material shortages. Take all necessary measurements to fit pipe according to plan. Cut and arrange pipe and fittings to provide to welder for welding. Install pipe after being welded. Act as M. G. Newell representative on job when Project Manager/Engineer is not available. Perform welding (tig (GTAW)) for new installations of process piping systems using pre-engineered drawings. Welding must be to sanitary 3A standards. Perform welding (tig (GTAW)) for repair of process piping systems as directed. Welding must be to sanitary 3A standards. Repair leaks, replacing lines, etc. Rebuild mechanical equipment Set up welding machines and other equipment as necessary at job site. Produce sanitary type welds, grind and polish as required. Assist in setting and installing equipment. May perform mechanical repairs and new equipment startup on process piping systems. Attend vendor schools to become proficient in equipment repairs. Fabricate special orders per shop work order and/or drawings Maintain welding machine, hand tools, and power tools Complete reports and paperwork as needed Assist in completing field service reports May respond to emergency repair calls at customer location when necessary. This may be during non-normal working hours. Physical Requirements include climbing ladders, accessing confined spaces, using hand tools and rigging equipment, and lift up to 75 pounds. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform other duties as required. Ensure all Plant / M.G. Newell Safety procedures are being followed.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Fork Truck / Equipment Experience Preferred 3-5 years sanitary experience preferred Willing to travel 75% +/- of the time M. G.
