Job Title:

Pipe Assembler and Installer (2nd Shift) Job Description Join our team as a Pipe Assembler and Installer, where you will assemble and install pipes, tubes, and fittings in units, and perform pressure checks on systems. This role requires efficiency and productivity in completing tasks. Responsibilities Read a tape measure to 1/8th inch accuracy. Follow verbal instructions precisely. Utilize hand tools effectively. Cut, thread, and bend pipes using a Hydraulic Pipe Bender. Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic. Connect pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints. Increase pressure in the pipe system and observe connected pressure gauge to test the system for leaks. Use acetylene and oxygen torch set. Train and work in multiple manufacturing positions, such as assembly, paint, wire, and weld. Lift up to 50 lbs as necessary. Read and interpret documents such as layout drawings, bills of material, and piping diagrams. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in reading a tape measure to 1/8th inch. Ability to follow verbal instructions. Experience using hand tools. Experience with cutting, threading, and bending pipes. Knowledge of assembling and installing various pipes and fittings. Experience using an acetylene and oxygen torch set. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma. 3+ years of piping experience. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment This position is based in the Manufacturing-Piping Department within a large manufacturing facility in Frederick, MD. The work environment includes an assembly line atmosphere with benches and stations for assembly, piping, welding, and troubleshooting. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, and occasionally to wet or humid conditions, high places, outside weather conditions, and vibration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
