Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Pipe layer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground wet utility pipelines, including water and sewer systems. This role involves working with heavy equipment, ensuring proper alignment of pipes, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on-site. Duties Install, repair, and maintain underground wet utility systems. Operate compaction machinery to assist in trenching, excavation, and pipe placement operations. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper placement and alignment of utilities. Manually excavate utility trench to grade using laser setup by others. Excavate trenches to accept concrete bell & straps if needed. Install pipe gaskets correctly. Have knowledge of installation procedure for each type of pipe, including glue & primer requirements. Measure, cut, and connect pipes & fittings to create functional utility systems. Backfill trenches and compact soil to restore surfaces. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment. Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition. Document work activities and report progress to supervisors Skills Previous experience in pipe laying. Knowledge of pipe materials, installation techniques, and safety procedures. Physical fitness and endurance to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
