In this role, you will be responsible for supporting various heavy equipment operations, site preparation, and utility system installations. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will ensure efficient project progress while adhering to all safety regulations and technical specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, including sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater management, and underground utilities. Duties Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to perform site excavation, trenching, and grading tasks. Assist in the installation of sanitary sewer systems, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and underground utilities following blueprint specifications. Conduct construction trenching activities while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and federal construction safety regulations. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute pipe installation and utility system projects. Perform concrete finishing tasks including forming and pouring concrete structures as required on the project site. Use hand tools and power tools for pipe fitting, welding, concrete forming, and other construction-related activities. Locate underground utilities using utility locating equipment such as pipe lasers and ensure safe excavation practices around existing infrastructure. Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety regulations during heavy equipment operation and construction activities. Support pipeline installation projects by assisting with pipe laser alignment, plumbing connections, and sanitary drainage system setup. Assist with the operation of forklifts when necessary for material handling on-site. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks in a construction environment. Knowledge of utility trenching techniques for sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and underground utilities installation projects. Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately for construction tasks. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence during all phases of work. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and pipe lasers for precise installation work. Experience in concrete finishing including forming and pouring is preferred. Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewer line installation, pipeline work, plumbing basics, oil & gas infrastructure is advantageous. Ability to locate underground utilities safely using utility locating devices before excavation begins. Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and the importance of following safety regulations at all times. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions from project plans while maintaining a focus on quality workmanship.
