Do you enjoy the variety and challenges of hands-on work where every project presents new opportunities to solve problems, meet deadlines, and see the results of your efforts? Can you adapt to changing weather, site conditions, and project demands while working safely and efficiently as part of a team? If so, we'd like to hear from you! As a Pipe Layer/Sitework Laborer you will be installing underground pipe for water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and other utility systems while supporting grading, excavation, demolition and other site development activities. You will help prepare construction sites according to project plans and specifications by assisting equipment operators with trench excavation, utility installation, grade checking and site preparation. We are looking for individuals who are dependable, safety-focused, eager to learn, and take pride in producing quality work. Responsibilities:
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and effective time management while prioritizing work to meet project schedules and deadlines. Install underground storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, and utility piping according to plans and specifications. Utilize lasers, grade rods, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate line and grade during installation. Adhere to safety and quality standards of The Alan Group's procedures and OSHA including PPE gear and jobsite safety. As a member of our team, you will be responsible to represent our brand in a professional manner, which includes dress, demeanor and language.
Qualifications:
Valid and clean driver's license as the position requires driving to jobsites throughout the Metro Detroit area. High school diploma or equivalent (additional education is great but it is not required). If you have specific machine training or certifications, please let us know! 5+ years of demonstrated proficiency and skill with underground utilities, sitework, or related construction field. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and project specifications. Demonstrated experience using lasers, grade rods, GPS equipment, and other measuring tools.

Salary $30-35 an hour, depending on demonstrated experience and skill.
