Job Summary:

MegaKC is looking for an experienced Pipefitter to join our field team supporting civil and water/wastewater construction projects throughout the Kansas City area. As a Pipefitter, you'll play a key role in the installation and assembly of process piping systems, valves, pumps, and related equipment on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and other infrastructure projects. Duties:

Install, assemble, fit, and repair piping systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related civil infrastructure. Lay out, measure, cut, thread, groove, flange, and fit pipe according to project plans, specifications, and field conditions. Install various piping materials, including ductile iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, HDPE, copper, and other materials as required by the project. Install and connect valves, fittings, pumps, meters, supports, hangers, and other piping system components. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, piping layouts, details, and manufacturer installation requirements. Perform field measurements and determine proper pipe routing, elevations, alignment, and fit-up. Assist with setting and connecting mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, treatment equipment, and other process-related systems. Fabricate and modify piping and supports in the field as needed to accommodate actual site conditions. Bolt and torque flanged connections and install gaskets according to project and manufacturer requirements. Assist with pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, leak testing, and commissioning of installed piping systems. Inspect completed work for proper alignment, elevation, support, fit, and installation quality. Coordinate piping installation with concrete, excavation, electrical, mechanical, and other construction activities. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pipe fabrication equipment, lifts, rigging equipment, and other construction equipment appropriate to the work. Assist with rigging, hoisting, positioning, and installation of pipe, valves, and equipment. Work in excavations, structures, treatment facilities, vaults, pump stations, and other active construction environments. Follow project safety requirements, including applicable procedures for excavation, fall protection, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, lifting/rigging, and PPE. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Identify installation conflicts or field conditions that differ from the plans and communicate them to the Foreman or Superintendent before proceeding. Work collaboratively with laborers, operators, carpenters, equipment operators, other craft employees, subcontractors, and project supervision. Perform other construction and craft duties as assigned based on project needs.

Requirements:

3-5+ years of pipefitting/process piping experience; water/wastewater, industrial, or heavy civil construction preferred. Experience installing various piping systems, including ductile iron, steel, PVC/CPVC, and HDPE. Ability to read plans, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, and equipment layouts. Skilled in measuring, laying out, cutting, fitting, aligning, and assembling piping systems. Experience with mechanical piping connections and connecting piping to pumps, valves, tanks, and treatment equipment. Knowledge of safe rigging, hoisting, and material-handling practices. Proficiency with standard pipefitting hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Working knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 and applicable safety certifications preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor construction environments, including excavations, structures, and elevated areas. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Pay:

$42.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
