Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pipelayer specializing in Water, Sewer, and Storm Utilities to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing underground utility systems that form the backbone of municipal infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and precise placement of pipelines and related components, adhering to all safety and technical standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential public works projects while working with a team committed to excellence and safety. Must be able to get on a military base. Responsibilities Interpret and follow detailed construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install water supply, sewer, stormwater, and underground utility systems. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation. Install pipelines using pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and grade. Perform trenching activities in accordance with construction plans while adhering to federal construction safety regulations. Connect pipes securely using welding techniques when necessary, ensuring watertight seals for sanitary drainage systems and water supply lines. Locate existing underground utilities with utility locating equipment before excavation to prevent damage or service disruptions. Conduct concrete finishing and forming as needed for utility structures; interpret technical drawings for complex installations. Follow all safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe work environment on construction sites involving wastewater systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and pipeline projects. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records. Experience Proven experience in construction site work involving underground utility installation projects such as sewer lines, water systems, or stormwater infrastructure. Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks. Skilled in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans specific to utility system installation projects. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and best practices for trenching and excavation activities. Familiarity with utility locating techniques and underground utilities installation procedures. Experience working on wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, stormwater management infrastructure, or oil & gas pipeline projects is highly desirable. Ability to interpret technical specifications related to pipe installation, concrete forming, welding procedures, and pipeline alignment using pipe lasers or similar tools. Strong understanding of safety regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation and underground utility work in diverse environments. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week
