Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install piping systems such as sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and wastewater infrastructure. Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and position pipes with precision. Install underground utilities by trenching according to safety regulations and construction specifications while adhering to federal construction safety standards. Use pipe lasers and other specialized tools to ensure proper alignment and elevation during pipe installation projects. Perform welding tasks on pipes where necessary to ensure secure joints and long-lasting connections. Locate underground utilities using utility locating equipment before excavation to prevent damage or accidents. Follow all safety protocols diligently during construction site activities to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct concrete finishing and forming work as needed for utility access points or related structures. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and project documentation for compliance purposes. Qualifications Proven experience in pipe fitting within construction or oil & gas industries with a strong understanding of plumbing systems and pipeline installation. Skilled in heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, stormwater management systems, sewer line installation, and underground utilities installation. Proficiency in welding techniques applicable to pipework along with the use of pipe lasers for precise alignment. Familiarity with utility trenching methods following safety regulations including federal construction safety standards. Experience with concrete forming and finishing is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence on construction sites involving heavy machinery operation and utility system installation projects. Ability to interpret technical drawings related to water supply systems and pipeline projects effectively.
