NYS prevailing wage during on site work About the Job G. DeVincentis & Son is a family-owned heavy/highway and utility contractor based in Binghamton, NY. We build water, sewer, storm, road, and concrete projects for municipalities across New York and Pennsylvania. We're hiring an experienced Pipe Layer to join our underground crews. What You'll Do Install water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related structures (manholes, catch basins, hydrants, valves, services) Set grade using laser and pipe level; check line and grade throughout the run Work in the trench with the excavator operator to bed, lay, and backfill pipe Cut, fit, and join ductile iron, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pipe Assist with tapping, tie-ins, testing (pressure and mandrel/vacuum), and chlorination as needed Set trench boxes and shoring; follow all trench safety and excavation requirements Hand dig around existing utilities and assist with locates Keep tools, equipment, and the work area organized and safe What We're Looking For 2+ years of pipe laying experience on water/sewer or utility jobs OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 or Competent Person a plus Ability to read plans and grade sheets Understanding of trench safety, shoring, and confined space basics Physically able to work outdoors in all weather, lift 50+ lbs, and work in trenches Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license CDL Class A or B a plus

Pay:

$68.01 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
