Threaded Pipe Fitter

Pipefitting role responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and leak-testing threaded pipe systems and supports on compressor packages. Job Requirements Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to select pipe types, sizes, supports, and hangers according to specifications Ability to plan pipe installation to avoid obstructions and interference with other work Ability to cut, thread, and bend pipe Ability to assemble and install metal pipes, tubes, and fittings including iron, steel, copper, and stainless steel Ability to connect pipes using threaded joints Ability to secure pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, and hangers Ability to pressure test pipe systems and identify leaks using gauges Ability to weld pipe supports to structural steel members Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to carry out written, oral, and diagram-based instructions Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle materials, and use hands throughout the workday Preferred Skills Experience installing threaded pipe systems on compressor packages Experience welding pipe supports to structural members Experience with pressure testing and leak detection Experience cross-training in electrical or tubing work Experience working with a variety of pipe materials and fittings in industrial environments Job Responsibilities Lay out, assemble, and install threaded pipe systems and pipe supports on compressor packages Select pipe types, sizes, and related materials such as supports and hangers according to specifications Plan installations to avoid obstructions and interference with other workers Cut, thread, and bend pipe Assemble and install metal pipes, tubes, and fittings including iron, steel, copper, and stainless steel Connect pipes using threaded joints Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers Increase pressure in pipe systems and observe gauges to test for leaks Weld pipe supports to structural steel members Cross-train in related functions such as electrical and tubing work

Pay:
