Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic construction and fabrication team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems across various projects, ensuring all work meets strict safety standards and industry codes. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex pipe installations, including fire sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, and pipeline networks. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine pipe layout and specifications. Perform welding operations using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and pipe welding techniques in accordance with ASME codes & standards and NFPA standards. Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and other fabrication equipment. Fit pipes accurately by measuring with calipers and using schematics to ensure proper alignment and connection. Solder or braze piping systems as needed for plumbing or sprinkler systems while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting tools and equipment regularly for safety compliance; practice power tool safety at all times. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving pipefitting, rigging, assembly, maintenance, or manufacturing tasks related to pipeline or HVAC systems. Requirements Proven experience in pipe welding and fitting within construction or manufacturing environments. Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, and pipe welding techniques; knowledge of welding preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, fabrication processes, pipe installation methods including sprinkler systems and fire protection piping. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as NFPA regulations related to fire sprinkler fitting. Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, pipe benders, soldering equipment, power tools, and rigging gear safely. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise fitting. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocol adherence; knowledge of OSHA standards is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings quickly and accurately. Construction site experience involving plumbing or HVAC systems is highly desirable; manufacturing or maintenance background is a plus.
