The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, and maintaining piping systems across various commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, welding processes, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting infrastructure development, including fire sprinkler systems, pipeline installations, and mechanical piping networks. Duties Interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately assemble piping systems according to specifications. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools and power tools such as pipe threaders, tube benders, and welding equipment. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and pipe welding in accordance with ASME codes and NFPA standards. Install fire sprinkler systems, plumbing pipelines, and mechanical piping for commercial buildings while adhering to safety regulations. Fabricate pipe components through cutting, soldering, and fitting processes; ensure proper assembly using rigging techniques. Maintain compliance with safety protocols during all phases of installation and fabrication; utilize proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Conduct routine maintenance on piping systems; troubleshoot issues related to leaks or system failures. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure construction plans are executed efficiently. Follow all safety regulations including NFPA standards for fire protection systems; document safety inspections and procedures. Ensure all work meets industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for pressure piping and pipeline integrity. Requirements Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Pipefitter in a commercial or industrial mechanical environment Proven experience as a Commercial Pipefitter or in a similar role within the construction or industrial sector. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding, and pipe welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Mechanical knowledge of piping systems including installation, fabrication, and maintenance procedures. Skilled in using hand tools such as pipe wrenches, threading machines, soldering equipment, and power tools safely. Strong understanding of pipe threading, tube bending, fabrication processes, and rigging methods. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting projects. Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to construction sites; committed to maintaining a safe work environment. Experience working with sprinkler systems, fire protection piping, or pipeline projects is preferred. Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently in dynamic environments.
Pay rate:
$25 to $32 an hour, based on experience and interview.
