Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laborer Pipe Layer specializing in Underground Utilities to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in installing essential underground utility systems such as water supply lines, sewer lines, stormwater systems, and other infrastructure components. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient execution of utility installation projects, adhering to all safety regulations and technical specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, contribute to vital infrastructure development, and develop your skills in heavy equipment operation and utility systems. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including, backhoes, excavators, and front loaders to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently. Install underground utilities such as sanitary sewers, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and wastewater infrastructure following detailed construction plans and blueprint specifications. Use pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure accurate pipe alignment and installation. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to execute projects accurately. Locate existing underground utilities using utility locating equipment to prevent damage during excavation activities. Perform construction trenching while adhering to safety protocols and federal construction safety regulations. Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocol adherence. Support the installation of sanitary drainage systems, sewer lines, stormwater infrastructure, and other underground utility systems with precision and care. Requirements Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on underground utilities installation. Knowledge of utility trenching techniques and underground utility installation processes. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence at all times on-site. Experience working with sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply networks or pipeline projects is preferred. Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Some out of town travel may be required. A drug screen is required.
