Utility Staffing Group is currently hiring Pipe Laying Technician positions in Knoxville, TN . Details fo r Pipe Installation Technician position: $27 / Hour and Up BOE Must be willing to travel Occasional Overtime & Weekends Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Zero Fees - you'll never be charged for any screening service Fast Start Date Weekly Pay Job duties for
Pipe Laying Technician :
Installing and repairing underground pipelines, sewer lines, and water mains Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the layout of pipes and the required materials Operate heavy machinery, such as excavators and backhoes, to dig trenches and lay pipes Connect pipes using various methods, depending on the material of the pipe Test pipes for leaks and ensure that they are properly aligned and graded Backfill trenches and compact soil to ensure that the pipes are properly supported Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area Completes any other related tasks as needed Qualifications and Desired Skills for
Pipe Laying Technician :
Associate's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Experience in laying pipes, operating heavy machinery, and working in a construction environment Previous experience as a Pipe Layer or similar role Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans Knowledge of different types of pipes and their installation methods Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and may be required to work in confined spaces Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and operate heavy machinery Ability to stand for duration of shift Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach If you possess experience and relevant skills, this opportunity may be an excellent fit for you.
